Spokane Wedding Photographer / Michelle and Albert at The Davenport Hotel

Michelle and Albert held an intimate ceremony and reception at The Davenport Hotel. A smaller wedding allows things to be fancier than ever! Their centerpieces and decor were simply extravagant and they were able to do a sit down plated dinner for their guests. With Albert's family not being from here they had many people come from out of town to celebrate this day with them. Michelle and Albert actually live in Las Vegas now and even though they only got here days before their wedding I was able to photograph their engagement session 3 days before the big day! It was great getting to know them as a couple and see how happy they are together. Their wonderful vendors also made this day perfect: Shasta Hankins for make-up, The Art of Flower, Complete Music and Celebrations Bakery and of course The Davenport Hotel. Michelle brought her beautiful dress from Las Vegas and don't miss her oh so fancy red bottom glitter heels!

Spokane Wedding Photographer / Kelly and Jeremy at Spokane Convention Center

What a fun couple! Kelly and Jeremy's wedding was August 4th and they were so excited to finally have this day arrive. Kelly didn't stop smiling all day! We started at The Davenport Hotel for the getting ready photos and the exciting first look moment. Pure emotion on their faces as you can see in the photos. Then we made our way through downtown ending at the Convention Center where the ceremony and reception took place. The whole wedding party walked together stopping for photos along the way... not to mention stopping for some Fireball shots too! Yes, this was a fun group! I knew the party would not end early that night. I know good times and memories were made that day and they will talk about it for decades. I also get to see Kelly and Jeremy tomorrow for their trash the dress session! Slideshow:

Spokane Portrait Photographer / Mandy in Empire Classic

I took these photos for Mandy who worked her butt off, literally - and every other part of her body - to compete in the Empire Classic. The competition happens to be today at Quest Casino, so thought I'd post a few images of her hotness! Good luck Mandy! Mandy is a personal trainer with Hilary at Threshold Fitness in downtown Spokane. Hilary is my trainer... they are both awesome if you are looking for a quick 15 minute workout 2-3 times a week.

Spokane Family Photographer / The soon to be Cannon Family

Tara and Brandon are getting married in September and I photographed their engagement session a few weeks ago. We wanted to include Brandon's daughter, however she was sick that day! They popped in the studio last weekend to take a few more of them as a family and couldn't help take some of his daughter by herself too... she's so beautiful! Photos taken at Moxie Images studio.

Spokane Baby Photographer / Little Paisley is turning One!

A year goes by so fast, once again. When you see a sweet sleepy baby go from this... to a sweet one year old full of personality, smiles and laughs... Paisley's mommy found a lot of her cute things on Etsy!

Spokane Bridal Festival / Engagement Session Winner

One of my sessions this weekend was the lucky drawing winner, Cheyenne, from January's Spokane Bridal Fair. I loved that Cheyenne and James came with a theme. As you can see, I just had to feature this shoot on the blog! This is sure to get the creative juices flowing for anyone looking for ideas for their own sessions... the options are endless, have fun with it!

Professional Photographers at Play / After Dark Education in Dallas, TX

After 6 WPPI's and numerous other conventions/workshops over the years, this past week I had the pleasure of attending the most hands on photography experience I've ever been to. It's called After Dark. Some may wonder what that means, but it means exactly that! The real learning begins at night. My days started early to get in line to rent the equipment I wanted to play with that day. Canon was kind enough to do free clean and checks on 2 pieces of everyone's equipment as well. Mentor meet and greets and vendors were available mid morning. Small groups gathered starting at 1:30pm. At that time I'd go out shooting or attend a classroom listening to some amazing photographers! I got to watch, work and chat with: Beth Jansen, Chuck Arlund, Jason Groupp, Julie Klaasmeyer, Kathy Holcombe, Leslie Spurlock, Matt Lucas, Mike Ridinger, Peter Holcombe, Stephanie Zettl, Dave Junion and Victoria Myszka... and that was only a third of the mentors there! There was not one question during this that I wasn't able to ask. The groups were small and everyone was heard. The mentors were able to stop and answer anything. This continued until midnight. After midnight it was play time! We had beautiful models the entire 3 days available for us to practice on too. I met some really great people and learned lots! Although I only slept 3-4 hours each night for 5 days, I'm ready to do it again! Check out the images below to see some of the shoots I worked on this week. Working with Julie Klassmeyer...

and Julie Klassmeyer's beautiful daughters modeled for us in Beth Jansen's class. Her youngest is already a professional photographer!

As you can see I had 3 full days of fun, shooting and learning. Can't wait to do it again!
